I noticed this cool Toyota concept described here at Engadget (with video). It’s called the Smart Insect because of its gull-wing design and was recently unveiled at CEATEC Japan 2012.
The concept caught my attention because it brought to life a lot of trends and technologies that we have been reporting on during 2012 in our Global Lifestyles and Technology Foresight project….things like micro-mobility solutions, the movement of facial recognition to consumer-facing products, predictive and cloud-based intelligence systems, and wireless power / charging systems. Many of these were reported on in our Technology Trajectories research series and it’s always interesting to see how companies bring to trends and emerging tech capabilities to life in their products (even if it is just a concept). Now, if I could only trade in my Camry for one of these…
